RS Components wins ‘Best Email Marketing’ and ‘Best Multichannel Marketing’ awards at The Digitals 2013

The company was shortlisted for seven awards in total for various disciplines, including search marketing, email marketing and social media, and in winning the awards defeated several big industry names such as Barcardi, Barclaycard, Carling, Nestlé, Sony Playstation and Vodafone.

The ‘Best Email Marketing’ and ‘Best Multichannel Marketing’ awards were presented for the company’s automated behavioural marketing programme and successful Arduino social marketing campaign respectively. RS has developed an industry-leading, fully automated email marketing process that targets customers with relevant communication in local languages based on their lifecycle position and buying behaviours. This has improved customer engagement and generated additional sales with a return on investment (ROI) of 40:1 in the first 12 months.
To launch the Arduino open-source electronics development kit, RS developed video tutorials with Massimo Banzi, technologist and Arduino co-founder, as part of a comprehensive multi-channel campaign that utilised email, social media, PR, Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and online advertising. RS succeeded in achieving a massive buzz about the kit across the EMEA and Asia-Pacific regions and exceeded sales expectations, with 361,819 views of the videos and a ROI of 646%.
