RubberForm’s Popular Sign Base Saves Project Timeline
Lockport, NY (PRWEB) February 24, 2014 -- With a deadline to meet, one of the world’s largest independent oil and natural gas exploration and production companies recently sought the help of RubberForm Recycled Products to finish their project on time. The project involved an above-ground pipeline stretching through Canada’s terrain that needed surveillance cameras to be installed.
“There wasn’t enough time to locate and map out all the buried electrical cables in the ground around the path of the pipeline,” said Eric Hamelin, a wildlife biologist working on the project. “Usually steel posts are pounded into the ground for the camera equipment to be mounted on, but without locating what was underground, that wasn’t an option.”
Running out of time, the oil company’s site contractor luckily spotted the popular RubberForm Sign Base in a parking lot. The Sign Base is a portable, solid, stable sign post base commonly used in sign-holding applications. Manufactured in Lockport, NY, the base is made from 100 percent post-consumer-recycled tire rubber and recycled plastic. The oil company realized that the base could have another function that would help with completing their project.
“From that point on, we did some research and discovered it was a good solution to the problem,” said Hamelin. “The oil company was able to maintain their project timeline which kept expenses in line.”
