Rutgers grants Sicut additional exclusive territorial rights, including Australia, New Zealand and Africa
(PRWEB UK) 1 June 2015 -- Sicut’s exclusive rights to manufacture, have manufactured, market, distribute and sell products using Rutgers technology now extend across Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia and Africa (with the exception of Morocco). This is in addition to the rights in Europe and India granted back in 2006.
This amendment to Sicut’s licensed right enables Sicut to exclusively utilise proven intellectual property to manufacture and sell railway sleepers and other structural composite materials used in industrial applications in these new territories.
Following the amendment, Sicut and the one other licensee, based in the US, remain the only two licensees of tested and proven recycled plastic composite technology developed by Rutgers and Sicut over the past 20 years. Sicut and the other licensee each enjoy the exclusive rights to exploit this unique technology in clearly defined territories. This includes the manufacture, marketing, distribution and sale of products using the technology. Sicut’s amended license now grants Sicut exclusive worldwide rights to the technology, with the following exclusions:
- the Americas, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Turkmenistan, Belarus, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Morocco, Tajikistan, Georgia, Armenia and the complete Caribbean territory;
- China, a territory to which Sicut and the other licensee share the exclusive rights.

About the Rutgers Technology
The Rutgers Technology, which comprises patent rights and know-how, has been developed and proven over the past 20 years and is used to make a range of award winning products from proprietary blends of post-consumer and post-industrial plastics that are all 100% recyclable at end of life. Products made using the technology include railway sleepers, bridges, construction mats, I-beams and marine piles. The patent rights referred to in this release do not include patent applications AU 2011218074 & AU 2009225641, which are currently not used by Sicut in the manufacture of products.
About the Sicut Technology
Sicut owns certain patent rights and know-how that have been used alongside the Rutgers technology to deliver important performance enhancements to railway sleepers made using the Rutgers technology. Sicut has licensed the use of these patent rights to the other licensee.
