RxSafe, LLC Doubles the Size of Headquarters to Accommodate Soaring Demand

Beginning in December, RxSafe will add more than 7,500 square feet to its home office in Vista, California, effectively doubling in size.
The company’s growth can be attributed primarily to its flagship product, an innovative storage and retrieval robot that improves accuracy and speed of filling prescriptions, saves space in the pharmacy, provides narcotics security and manages inventory seamlessly.

The RxSafe 1800 system improves pharmacy operations in several ways. It increases speed and accuracy in filling prescriptions, allowing pharmacies to operate more efficiently. High-density storage can save more than 100 square feet of space in a pharmacy, giving pharmacies the room to add new profit-enhancing programs such as MedSync, compounding or MTM. Inventory management and reporting allow pharmacies to avoid costs associated with expired drugs, reduce on-hand inventory and increase inventory turns.
In order to support and enhance pharmacy-led efforts to combat opioid diversion, the storage of medication inside an RxSafe tower adds a layer of much-needed narcotics security. Medication bottles are weighed as they enter the tower in order to identify any discrepancies during the filling process. Bottles are intermingled and stored on their sides with the bottom facing out. If a thief managed to break into a tower, they would just see the bottoms of thousands of bottles with no easy way to identify narcotics.
RxSafe’s latest innovation is the RxASP 20, which is a machine that puts a patient’s medication in strip packaging, instead of traditional vials. The packaging makes it much easier for patients to remember to take their medicine, at the right time and in the correct dosage. For the pharmacy owner, integrated machine vision inspection means unsurpassed accuracy, significantly reduced labor costs, and a higher standard of care. The RxASP 20 can accurately fill a 30-day supply of medications in strip packaging in five minutes or less, with no re-work required.
