Portland, ME (PRWEB) July 09, 2014 -- The Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD) School Board approved the recommendation of Walch Integrated Math’s CCSS Integrated Pathway: Mathematics I program materials. The recommendation came after the SCUSD’s curriculum committee completed its evaluation of Integrated Math resources from a variety of publishers for implementation in school year 2014/2015.
Walch’s Common Core mathematics materials for the Integrated Pathway were created using the California State Board of Education’s Curriculum Frameworks in concert with the Common Core State Standards and Mathematical Practices, and with direct input from California teachers and curriculum leaders. Walch’s resources will also provide summative assessments reflecting SBAC item types. These materials provide SCUSD’s educators with the resources they need to implement standards-based learning in their classrooms and to prepare their students for upcoming state assessments.
“Sacramento City Unified School District is a recognized leader in California. It was clear from the moment I met with them that they understand that a coherent, organized adoption of the Common Core and the Integrated Pathway approach to mathematics education will best equip their teachers and students to succeed,” explains Rebecca Johnson, District Solutions Manager for Walch Integrated Math.
"We are pleased with SCUSD's adoption of Walch after a rigorous selection process and have already begun working with SCUSD as they implement Common Core Integrated Math. Our task-based instructional model and our emphasis on supporting teachers clearly were appreciated. Our momentum in California is significant and growing as other leading Integrated Math districts, like Redlands, have also selected Walch, and we have a number of ongoing evaluations across the state,” affirmed Al Noyes, President, Walch Integrated Math.
