SAE Institute Nashville Enhances Its Programs with Input from New Student Government Association
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) July 21, 2013 -- SAE Institute, recently selected by Vibe Magazine as being the best audio engineering school in America, has started a new student government organization (SGA) at its Nashville campus. The organization, which will be led by audio technology program student Luke Gaikwad, aims to give students in the school’s audio engineering and music business education programs a voice in the selection of learning resources, facilities, faculty, and new equipment.
“Our new SGA will ensure that SAE Nashville continues to meet our students’ expectations, delivering the best creative media education experience possible,” says Lynn Dorton, Campus Director of SAE Nashville. “We strive to prepare our students to be employment-ready once they graduate, so having the input of a top student like Luke will help us achieve that goal.”
Luke will graduate in December ’13 from SAE Institute Nashville with an Audio Technology Diploma. Originally from the city of Pune, which is located on the west coast of India, Luke is passionate about both the theoretical (classroom) as well as the practical (studio) aspects of audio engineering.
“It's obvious that Luke wants to succeed, and he sees opportunity in every situation he encounters,” says Dorton. “His impressive work ethic will serve him very well when he enters the job market in December, and I have no doubt he’ll achieve great things in his professional audio career.”
Luke comes from a family of creative media professionals: his father is an audio engineer in India, and his sister is pursuing her Masters Degree in Film and Electronic Media at University of Mumbai in Mumbai, India.
“I looked at many audio engineering schools in India, the U.K., and the U.S., but SAE beats them all hands down,” says Luke. “Not only is SAE affordable, it also offers an immense global network of industry-leading alumni to connect with that’s unrivaled by any other school, anywhere in the world.”
Once he graduates from SAE, Luke would like to stay in the States for a few years and work as a studio engineer, possibly doing sound for films as well as post-production work. He plans to eventually return to India and open his own recording studio, production company, record label, and radio station, focusing on up-and-coming Indian recording artists.
“I’m hoping that my work with the SGA makes it possible for SAE to continue offering the same incredible opportunities for future students that have been available to me,” says Luke. “I couldn’t have picked a better location than Nashville to gain my audio engineering education and begin my career, and I’m excited about helping to keep bringing the positive experience that I had at SAE to all of the school’s aspiring audio and music business professionals.”
