SAE International Enhances GD&T Education Offerings by Completing Purchase of Effective Training, Inc.
Warrendale, PA (PRWEB) January 21, 2014 -- SAE International bolstered its engineering fundamentals portfolio of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) learning products by acquiring Effective Training, Inc. (ETI), based in Metro Detroit.
GD&T is an international language used on engineering drawings to accurately describe a part. The language consists of a well-defined set of symbols, rules, definitions and conventions that can be used to describe the size, form, orientation and location tolerances of part features.
“GD&T learning is a basic fundamental to all engineering learning,” David L. Schutt, PhD, Chief Executive Officer of SAE International, said. “The acquisition of ETI, which has been a leader in this field, enables SAE International to provide even more value in this important field.”
ETI products that will be integrated into SAE International’s portfolio include: software, videos, Web-based training, digital instructor kits, reference books and materials, textbooks and workbooks. ETI founder Alex Krulikowski will join the SAE International staff, helping to develop new programs and courses.
“SAE International continually looks to expand its offerings by adding quality materials and products,” Kevin Perry, EdD, Manager, Professional Development, SAE International, said. “Alex Krulikowski is an expert in GD&T education and we are thrilled to have him and the ETI team as part of our organization.”
The purchase was facilitated with the assistance of Whitestone Communications, Inc., based in New York City.
