Dublin, CA (PRWEB) June 05, 2017 -- The OSHA Training Center at Chabot-Las Positas Community College District, the only authorized OSHA Training Institute Education Center headquartered in Northern California, is partnering with Federal OSHA, the National Safety Council (NSC), the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to announce OSHA’s inaugural Safe + Sound Week. Scheduled for June 12-18, 2017, this nationwide event has been launched to raise awareness of the value of workplace safety and health programs, which can help employers and workers identify and manage workplace hazards.
Throughout Safe + Sound Week, organizations are encouraged to host events and activities that showcase the core elements of an effective safety and health program -- management leadership, worker participation and a systematic approach to finding and fixing hazards in the workplace. Organizations of any size and industry that are looking for an opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to workplace safety and health are invited to participate. More information, including a list of suggestions for participation and ideas to plan and promote your events, can be found at OSHA’s Safe + Sound Week webpage.
Successful safety and health programs are designed to proactively identify and manage workplace hazards before they cause injury or illness, improving sustainability and the bottom line. Participating in Safe + Sound Week can help organizations get their safety and health programs off the ground or energize and expand existing programs.
To observe Safe + Sound Week the OSHA Training Center is offering OSHA 7205 - Health Hazard Awareness at the special price of $99 (regularly $250), in Dublin, California, on June 15, 2017. This course provides an introduction to common health hazards that are encountered in the workplace. It raises awareness for employers and employees, and includes exposure to chemicals, asbestos, silica and lead.
