Saga Launches The World’s First Social Lifelogging App To Stay Close To The People Who Matter Most
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- A.R.O. Inc., the makers of Saga, the essential lifelogging app, today announced new features that allow users to effortlessly share their lifelogs with friends, family and followers. Saga automatically keeps track of where users go and what they do in a beautiful lifelog. Now Saga users can share their lifelogs effortlessly and stay in touch with the people who matter most. Try Saga for free by downloading it from iTunes.
Up until this point, lifelogging has been an exercise in personal tracking and quantification and has largely been a solitary endeavor. The new version of Saga lets anyone automatically record and share his or her lifelog -- and to follow the lifelogs of others. A.R.O. believes that sharing lifelogs strengthens relationships, allows users to explore diverse lifestyles, and enables anyone to enjoy the company of others in a new and interesting way.
“So many things are better when they’re social. Lifelogging is no exception. It’s in our nature to share the best and worst parts of our lives, and Saga is how you tell the most authentic story of your life. Simply put, Lifelogging is best with friends,” said Andy Hickl, A.R.O.’s co-founder and CEO. “Social lifelogging has helped me get to know the people in my life on a completely new level.”
When users first download and install Saga, social sharing is disabled. Before enabling social features, Saga will prompt users to set sharing permissions. From that point forward, as long as the app is running, Saga will automatically keep track of the places users go and things they do, and reveal select data to users’ followers. After creating an account, users can connect Saga with other self-tracking applications -- such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Fitbit, Tripit, BodyMedia, Withings, MyFitnessPal, and more -- to add rich data to their lifelogs.
Key Features:
- Remember Everything -- Automatically keep track of places and activities everyday
- Reveal the Real You -- Automatically share true life adventures with friends, family, and followers
- Gain Insight -- Explore personal analytics to discover trends and insights, and to find interesting facts about people and places
- Add Snaps or Photos -- The ‘Snaps’ feature is Saga's unique way to save memorable photos to a lifelog, or add photos from the phone’s camera roll
- Create Bundles -- Curate and share trips and adventures by bundling favorite places into collections
- Collect Traits -- Be rewarded for being unique, interesting, or plain awesome
Gordon Bell, creator of the MyLifeBits lifelogging experiment and a Saga user said, “Saga brings us close to the automated diary by tracking location, activity, and what we see—under our control!”
Saga’s social lifelogging features are optional. Users do not have to take advantage of social sharing to use the app. Saga also provides tiered privacy permissions to accommodate different preferences and privacy consideration. Settings allow the user to delay location sharing, disable location sharing, and proactively predetermine which content to share with each follower. Saga takes privacy seriously. No data collected from Saga will ever be sold and users may delete an account permanently at any time.
