Fort Worth, TX (PRWEB) December 11, 2017 -- Sagora Senior Living announced today that Kyle Douthit has been appointed as Executive Director for Lyndale-Abilene Memory Care, the expansion of Lyndale-Abilene located at 6565 Central Park Blvd. Douthit’s appointment to Executive Director will complement the strong leadership and professionalism at Lyndale-Abilene.
“I have a high regard for Sagora Senior Living and its unprecedented plans to offer a continuum-of-care campus for senior residents of Abilene and nearby communities,” said Kyle Douthit. “Adding memory care options for the independent living and assisted living residents already experiencing the unique lifestyle at the Lyndale-Abilene community, will mean residents or their loved ones living with Alzheimer’s, dementia or other memory care needs won’t have to move away from the Lyndale-Abilene campus. That closeness and that concept is the commitment to a resident first philosophy that I’m honored to be representing for Sagora.”
Douthit, currently the Executive Director at Sagora’s University Place Senior Living community in Abilene, will move to the new location during construction. Douthit has been involved with memory care both personally and professionally for more than a decade. His father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and passed away October 2016 after battling it for 12 years. Prior to Sagora, Douthit worked with Alzheimer’s-specific and related communities in the positions of administrator, senior vice president of operations and chief operating officer.
“Kyle’s background and his reputation in the community are notable,” said Bryan McCaleb, President and Owner of Sagora Senior Living. “There truly couldn’t be a better fit than Kyle for the executive director position at Lyndale-Abilene Memory Care. As an Abilene native myself, I’m happy that we were able to appoint someone who represents the Abilene community and has the professional expertise, personal compassion and a special Abilene community bond.”
Douthit holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Abilene Christian University (ACU). He and his wife, Julie, have been married 27 years and have been residents of Abilene for 18 years. They have two daughters, Brittney is in graduate school at ACU studying Speech Pathology, and Emily is a sophomore at ACU studying Occupational Therapy.
The unique 44,000-sq. ft. expansion includes 64 state-of-the-art memory care apartments, two interior courtyards with covered seating and a notable “main street” concept for common space areas. The innovative indoor town center in the main gathering area will include streetscapes depicting a quaint village barber shop and salon, a movie theater, a café and a piano parlor—each using true-to-life design elements to enhance the living experience for memory care residents each day.
Construction will be led by The Covenant Group’s (TCGLP) CGI Construction of Fort Worth, targeting a 2018 completion.
