Saint Bernard Gives Back to School in Second Annual Backpack Drive
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) August 03, 2015 -- With 37 years of outfitting families in Texas for adventure, Saint Bernard, formerly St. Bernard Sports, is helping get the community back to school with a $20 gift voucher for a future purchase of $100 or more to shoppers who bring a gently used backpack to the Dallas and Austin during the month of August. The backpacks will benefit children in need through St. Phillips Community Center in Dallas and Breakthrough in Austin.

The program also seeks to help Saint Bernard customers with their back-to-school shopping, as the $20 gift vouchers can be used on any purchase of $100 or more in stores. New fall arrivals from brands such as Patagonia, Citizens of Humanity, Southern Tide and Herschel backpacks are ready for style-savvy shoppers getting ready for the new school year.
Lasheryl Walker, community center coordinator for St. Phillip’s, shares that the backpack drive does its part to instill confidence and opportunity to children in need.
“Many of our children did not have backpacks when school started, and we were able to give those who needed one a backpack,” Walker says. “Some had backpacks but they were used and dirty. It was nice to give them a brand new backpack. Those that were left over was given out later in the school year for those students that lost their backpack or needed a new one from wear and tear."
