Saint Mary's University of Minnesota Launches Three New Online Programs
MInneapolis, MN (PRWEB) July 24, 2014 -- Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota is proud to announce the addition of three new online programs to their current suite of distance learning programs: Master of Science in Accountancy, Master of Education in Learning Design and Technology, and Master of Arts in International Development. Each online program provides students with the same respected offerings as the campus, real-time applied learning, immediate return on investment, and support from faculty, staff, and classmates.
The online M.S. in Accountancy offers students one of the most distinguished accounting programs around, with an emphasis placed on leadership and management, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam and/or Certified Management Account (CMA) certification credit benefit and a unique curriculum offering courses such as auditing, forensic accounting and non profit and government accounting. “The Master of Science in Accountancy at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota is designed to transform accounting practitioners into key ethical thought leaders in quantitative decision making,” said Matt Nowakowski. “The effective communication of fiscal data and analysis is a key competency for business partners, and this program aspires to be a premier contributor and partner in the education of future accounting leaders,” he added.
The online M.Ed. in Learning Design and Technology provides students with an innovative approach to pedagogy and education by providing them with the technological tools needed to elevate how they educate as well as how their classrooms learn. The curriculum was designed to transform teachers into master educators, by equipping them with the advanced skills to heighten their current knowledge and become trailblazers in their institutions. "The Master of Education in Learning Design and Technology was designed to maximize student engagement and fully tap into the power of technology that's already in students' hands. It is really all about deeply understanding learning, the impact of a teacher’s disposition and beliefs, and how to meaningfully engage all students in the classroom within our technological and global context. This program was created in collaboration with K-12 administrators and technology industry leaders," said Saint Mary's Graduate School of Education Dean Rebecca Hopkins.
The online M.A. in International Development was designed by real-world practitioners who share the same passion for social and human change as the students in the program. Blending theory with practical knowledge, the curriculum offers distinctive courses that focus on management and a global marketplace all while preparing students for their areas of passion with a field study project. “The Master of Arts in International Development at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota is geared toward intellectually curious individuals who are dedicated to becoming change agents in a global society,” said Dean Nowakowski. “This program uses sound theoretical disciplines to teach the practical skills to help leaders engage, transform, and inspire the development of international communities,” he added.
All three programs will be delivered via the internet through the Saint Mary's custom iPad coursework app. The app provides online students with the opportunity to complete assignments, compile research and collaborate and communicate with professors and fellow learners in ways never before possible with virtual education. Every online student in these three new programs will be issued an iPad (included with tuition) that is equipped with this Saint Mary’s learning management app.
Applications for admission to these three new exciting programs are being accepted now with online courses set to begin in August 2014.
