Salon Success Academy Students Win Big in Facebook Updo Contest
Upland, California (PRWEB) July 15, 2013 -- Facebook fans of Salon Success Academy have chosen two winners of the school’s Spring Updo Contest! People were able to cast their votes for their favorite photos using a special tab on the Salon Success Academy page on Facebook. Using the fans’ votes, the school selected George Ramirez as the Grand Prize Winner and Anette Gomez as the People’s Choice Winner.
Cosmetology students were able to submit photos of their best prom and wedding inspired updos through the use of social media. They could submit their entry using the special tab on the Salon Success Academy page on Facebook or by using the hashtag #ssacontest on Instagram or Twitter. When the submission period was complete, over 38 students from all five Salon Success Academy campuses had submitted photos of their impressive updos.
Once all of the photos were collected, it was up to the Facebook fans to help choose the winners. They had three weeks to vote for their favorite photo and could vote up to once a day. Nearly 1,000 votes were cast, which Salon Success Academy took in to account as they selected the winners.

George and Anette were awarded $75 Target gift cards for their winning photos. The five Honorable mentions winners were awarded $10 Starbucks gift cards. You can view all of the students’ photos on the Salon Success Academy page on Facebook.
“I am continually impressed by our students’ skill and creativity and this photo contest was no exception. There were so many great updos to choose from that it became a difficult task to select the winners. I’m very thankful that our Facebook fans were able to help us,” the owner of Salon Success Academy Robert Gross said.
