SaltStack Named InfoWorld 2014 Technology of the Year Award Winner
Salt Lake City (PRWEB) January 27, 2014 -- SaltStack, developers of the full software stack for configuration management, data center infrastructure automation and cloud orchestration, today announced it has been named an InfoWorld 2014 Technology of the Year Award winner.*InfoWorld editors note SaltStack speed and scale for data center orchestration.
For the 2014 Technology of the Year Awards, the InfoWorld editors consider the best products reviewed during the previous year. Hardware, software, development tools and cloud services are all considered. InfoWorld reviewed SaltStack Enterprise in October 2013 giving it an 8.8 out of 10 score and commenting that SaltStack “keeps server automation simple” and is “the sleekest and most robust” of the configuration management and server orchestration tools reviewed.
The 2014 award winners include 35 products in all, “from the hottest Web technologies to cloud-inspired data center hardware to the cloud-based services taking the world by storm.”
SaltStack also won an InfoWorld Bossie award in 2013. The InfoWorld staff picked the top products in open source data center and cloud platforms, infrastructure, and management tools, Peter Wayner, InfoWorld Test Center contributing editor wrote that the Bossie Awards, “focus on an increasingly important layer, the one that keeps all of these machines in the cloud in line.”
Writing about the 2014 Technology of the Year Award win, Paul Venezia, InfoWorld Test Center reviewer, said SaltStack is “designed for large-scale server environments,” and that “admins looking for a very complete, fast, reliable, and CLI-oriented tool need look no further.”
