She just began writing funny rhymes about different situations and eventually, because she had written quite a few, and people seemed to really enjoy them, she decided it might be fun to put them into a book.

About the Author
Samantha McCulloch remembers writing a few poems as a child and even then preferred the comic rather than the serious, with her most memorable poem being about a cannibal, but she soon gave it up in order to get on with the serious business of being a rebellious teenager, progressing to a restless young adult always looking for adventure. McCulloch didn’t start writing rhymes again until later in life, at a time when she had a particularly awful boss. Needing badly to let off some steam, she sat down and wrote a comic poem about the whole situation. She immediately felt an absolute sense of relief. She then realized what a fantastic outlet writing this type of poem was. From that point on, nonsense poems began to fly from her pen as she began writing about the funny side of life. The cartoons followed after. About nine years ago, she was diagnosed with “Early onset Parkinson’s.” After an initial shock, she had adjusted to the idea and although it has put some restrictions on her physical abilities, it has not curbed her active imagination. McCulloch had originally planned just to print a few copies for her friends and family but with much encouraging from these same people decided to publish.
