The poll question asked SamplePersonalStatement.org readers what their primary method of paying for graduate school would be—and of the choices offered, the overwhelming favorite was Student Loans. Of those who responded to the survey, a full 49 percent said they would be primarily relying on this method of payment.
In addition, the poll finds that more than a quarter of grad school applicants—26 percent—plan to fund their education primarily through scholarships. Approximately 12 percent responded by saying that their parents were going to pay for it; 7 percent, their company would pay for it. Only 6 percent of survey respondents said that they were primarily relying on assistantships.
“What these poll results suggest is that, while there are always different methods for paying for grad school, there are still many, many students who rely on loans to fund their education,” Kay summarizes. “For those looking into grad school, applying for a loan may be just as essential as applying for admission to the school.”
