Milford, MA (PRWEB) January 21, 2014 -- The Great Depression is often hailed as one of the most difficult periods the United States has ever seen. Quickly followed by World War II, there was little time for anyone to recover. The stories from these times are often told through the eyes of the adults, portrayed as parents struggling with money and work or soldiers fighting on the frontlines. Samuel J. Mancuso’s "The Good Friday Cave" (published by AuthorHouse), comes from somewhere vastly different: the eyes of a child.
Largely inspired by his own life, Mancuso’s "The Good Friday Cave" follows five young boys as they endure the hardships of the Great Depression and enter the era of World War II. Growing up in a semi-industrial town in Massachusetts, the boys had a thirst for adventure. With the Great Depression in full swing and World War II on the horizon the boys are sure to find the adventure they desperately seek, but at what cost?
Mancuso writes, "I want readers to take away an appreciation of the work and effort made by the generation of their grandparents toward maintaining the greatness of the United States."
