San Diego County Library Engages Thousands of Community Members Quickly with Launch of Library Mobile App from Boopsie
Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) June 26, 2015 -- Boopsie, Inc., the leading mobile platform-as-a-service provider for libraries worldwide, today released a case study focused on its partnership with San Diego County Library to expand the library system’s reach and engagement with its community. Boopsie worked with the Library to create a custom branded app that enables mobile catalog searches and access to library services.
Before partnering with Boopsie, SDCL was aware of the trend towards offering mobile access to library resources but did not have the time, budget or expertise required to offer their patrons a custom mobile application. The study explores the results of a partnership between Boopsie and SDCL to implement the SDCL-branded app. Among other key findings, it highlights how SDCL attracted 3,000 monthly unique users through implementation of the app.

“We’re thrilled with the results of the partnership with Boopsie, especially how easy it was to set up the SDCL-branded app and how easy the app makes access for our library patrons,” said Ryan Ibarra, SDCL-IT Services Manager. “This case study to help libraries make the best mobile strategy decisions and adopt the most effective modern technology. Many of today’s library users have a mobile device–but not a desktop computer–and it’s our duty as a librarian to serve them in the best manner possible.”
“Partnering with SDCL on development of this case study helped us see our technology in action and do an in depth analysis of how it can be used to help a large library system with a diverse population,” says Tony Medrano, CEO of Boopsie. “The increase in usage of library services and overall positive buzz in community related to the library’s mobile app were exciting to see. We look forward to serving the library staff at SDCL and to partnering with other tech forward libraries to help them engage with their community.”
