San Diego Interim Mayor Todd Gloria Declares 3rd Annual Financial Planning Day September 28th - District 9 Councilwoman Marti Emerald to Speak at the Alumni Center SDSU
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) September 23, 2013 -- Interim Mayor Todd Gloria issued a Proclamation today declaring September 28, 2013 the City of San Diego’s Third Annual Financial Planning Day. San Diego-area residents will be able to get a free financial checkup, planning advice and guidance from professional financial planners on September 28, 2013 at the Alumni Center San Diego State University. The event will feature experts from the Financial Planning Association® of San Diego and qualified certified financial planner(tm) professionals, all volunteering their time and expertise to work with local residents one-on-one to address their important financial issues.
The event will be held at the Alumni Center on the SDSU campus located at 55th Street and Hardy Ave. on Campus in San Diego. Events will begin at 10:00 am and will run until 3:00 pm. Free parking is available adjacent to the Alumni Center.
District 9 Councilwoman Marti Emerald will be speaking at the event in support of this financial literacy outreach to the citizens of San Diego. Financial planners will meet one-on-one with attendees to answer questions on planning for college without debt, credit card secrets, credit reports, home buying, among many other topics. The advice will be offered on a "no strings attached" basis and planners will not give out business cards or sell financial products or services.
San Diego Financial Checkup Day is organized by Financial Planning Association of San Diego in partnership with the City of San Diego Mayor’s Office as part of the national Financial Planning Week initiative created by Financial Planning Association, Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Foundation for Financial Planning and the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
