San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival Student Film Competition – Sunday March 1st
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) February 14, 2015 -- The 4th Annual Student Film Competition, held on Sunday, March 1st at 10 a.m. at the Cowell Theater in Fort Mason, gives students grades six through twelve the opportunity to tell their own stories about the ocean and sharpen their filmmaking skills. This year’s competition will showcase the top thirteen finalists’ films and awards will be given to three young filmmakers in both the middle and high school categories. The festival includes a Student Education Program, featuring exciting and inspirational films tailored to middle and high school students.
“We are proud to feature budding young filmmakers in the festival. Every year, we are impressed and touched by the creativity and thoughtful messages about what the ocean means to these students,” said Ana Blanco, SFIOFF Director.

The San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival returns for its twelfth year February 27th through March 2nd at the Cowell Theater in Fort Mason. Launched in 2004, the festival is dedicated to using film as a medium to increase public awareness of the environmental, social and cultural importance of marine ecosystems and foster a spirit of ocean stewardship. The SFIOFF is widely regarded as the premier venue in North America for ocean related films. The 2015 festival features over 40 films from 13 different countries including Argentina, France, Hong Kong, Mexico, New Zealand and Spain.
