Sanctuary Farms Looking To Open New Safe Haven For The Disabled
Beverly Hills, CA (PRWEB) July 08, 2014 -- Sanctuary Farms is an idea that was thought up by Robert Piutz, a father of two autistic children living in Gympie, Australia. The goal is to be able to purchase a large piece of farm land and turn it into a place where groups of handicapped people, young and old, can gather safely. The concept is fairly simple but there are a few more complex details that Piutz would like to bring to light.
The first goal would be to make this commune self reliant. The idea is to make it so that once everything is in place, they would no longer need any help from the outside world. There would be specialized areas setup for large green houses, animal pens and even a hydroponic fish tank where the fish and the plants would symbiotically help each other. This would provide the residents and their families with a job to do and food to eat. The hope is to not only provide the handicapped people with a purpose but also with something to keep occupied with during the day.
"We are looking to setup a small farm that will work, not only to become self funding but also to provide a peaceful safe environment where disabled persons along with their caretakers can spend some time," says Piutz.
Another goal that the founder is looking to achieve would be financial independence. The fruits and vegetables that are grown on the farm would not only provide food for those who live there but also create a revenue stream. There would be a farmers market attached to the property where these healthy organic foods would be sold to the public. The income from this food would go towards the cost of the various supplies that are needed to help the farm run properly.
Piutz was quoted as saying, "This would be a farm shop where produce can be sold directly to the public and were internet mail order organic fruit, vegetables and other products could be processed."
Piutz also believes that one of the main causes of autism is an unhealthy lifestyle filled with pollution and processed foods. This is why he believes that raising his children in this type of environment would be so beneficial to them.

Robert Piutz is a father of two autistic children, ages 12 and 18 from Gympie, Australia. He and his wife are looking to build funds in order to start a sanctuary for other people in similar situations. Though their children suffer from autism, this commune would welcome families of children and adults with any type of disability.
