Sandvold and Associates Assist Minnesota Snowbirds
St Louis Park, MN (PRWEB) July 17, 2014 -- Minnesota snowbirds are typically retirees who wish to avoid the snow and cold temperature of the northern winters and migrate south to enjoy the warmer climates. Many of these snowbirds have questions about the legal and tax issues surrounding residency requirements in various states.
Sandvold and Associates is teaming up with Matt Shea, principal of Gray, Plant, Mooty Law Firm, to offer a seminar titled, “Dual State Residency – What You Need to Know,” to be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 22 at the Golden Valley Golf and Country Club. This seminar will address some of the most asked about legal and tax issues. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served at 5:30 p.m. with the seminar itself beginning at 6 p.m.
Matt Shea focuses on estate planning and administration. His honors and distinctions include being recently elected as an ACTEC Fellow. ACTEC is a nationwide organization of distinguished trusts and estates practitioners who elect Fellows based on peer nomination and the lawyer demonstrating the highest level of integrity, commitment to the profession, competence and at least 10 years of experience. Matt is a Thomson Reuters, 2014 Minnesota Super Lawyer, and earned the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Teaching, University of St. Thomas School of Law, 2013.
Introductions will be kicked off by a favorite local celebrity, Tom Barnard. Barnard is the host of the very popular KQRS morning show. Barnard can also be seen live Monday through Friday on the Tom Barnard Podcast Network from 3-5 p.m. Barnard created the Tom Barnard Network earlier this year and features as a regular guest former news anchor Don Shelby. Terry Sandvold’s “Money Talks” Show joined the Podcast network in May of this year and can be seen live every Monday at 2 p.m.

Minnesota has hundreds of snowbirds who “fly” south for the winter. Many of snowbirds wonder what the advantages and disadvantages might be of keeping their current state residence or changing their residency to another state. There are so many misconceptions and questions surrounding this issue. This seminar will help to answer many of those questions. It will also focus on some of the key concerns of being really ready for retirement.
