Sapphire Resorts™ Group Releases List of Best Events in Texas this August
Las Vegas (PRWEB) August 04, 2015 -- It’s said that everything is bigger in Texas, and that even includes the state’s events. From celebrating hot sauce to roping cattle, Texans know how to have a good time. The only downside for people who are traveling to the Lone Star State is having to decide which events to attend. Thus, in effort to help Texas visitors, Sapphire Resorts™ Group has corralled the best events happening around the state this August.
Navasota Blues Fest: Visitors can head to Navasota, northwest of Houston, to enjoy two days of blues music at the 20th annual Navasota Blues Fest. Sapphire Resorts™ Group says that attendees at both days of the event can enjoy guitar workshops – including a cigar box guitar workshop – and live music. Musicians performing include Sonny Boy Terry, Ruthie Foster, Christian Dozzler, Betty Fox Band and Doug MacLeod. Ticket holders can bring in their own beer, wine and other beverages. Food vendors will also be on hand serving regional cuisine such as fried catfish. Tickets are $30 for both days, or $15 for Friday and $25 for Saturday.
Dogwood Jamboree: For travelers who are looking for some “good ole” country music, the Dogwood Jamboree will present their “American Country” show at the Palestine Civic Center in Palestine on Aug. 15. This upcoming fun-for-the-whole-family event will feature acts such as the Hall Brothers, a quartet of instrumentalists and singers from Houston; Robert Thornton, who is billed as “World’s Greatest Weatherman”; and Amanda Lane. The winner of the Dogwood Jamboree Talent Search will also perform. According to Sapphire Resorts™ Group, advanced tickets for this music and comedy show are $12.50 per adult and $6 per child; tickets at the door are $15 per adult.
Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival: Travelers can test the limits of their taste buds Aug. 23 at the Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival in Austin. The event, which is celebrating its 25th year, has become the world's largest celebration of hot sauces, drawing as many as 15,000 spectators and more than 350 entries every year. According to Sapphire Resorts™ Group, this event is a favorite among hot and spicy food lovers from all over the United States. Visitors can also feel good that the Hot Sauce Festival serves as a major fundraiser for the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas. Instead of paying for a ticket, attendees donate three healthy, nonperishable food items, or they can make a suggested $5 cash donation to the food bank. In fact, 2014's festival collected more than 45,300 meals for the Austin area in just six hours.
