Sarasota's SkinSmart Dermatology® Announces the Addition of Two Certified Physician Assistants to Its Team
Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) April 10, 2015 -- SkinSmart Dermatology recently added practitioners Debora Nash and Kate Weed, both licensed, Certified Physician Assistants, to the practice. They join Founder Elizabeth F. Callahan, MD and William B. Adams, MD and bring the number of staff to almost 40.
According to SkinSmart’s Dr. Callahan, “We are very fortunate that both Debora and Kate have decided to join our team. Both have extensive experience and education in the medical and dermatological field and we are now seeing both new and existing patients with expanded scheduling.”
Nash joined SkinSmart Dermatology as a licensed Certified Physician Assistant with more than nine years of dermatology experience in Fort Myers, FL as well as four years of experience in plastic surgery in Exeter, NH. She graduated from Notre Dame College in 2000 with a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. She completed her undergraduate work at Rochester Institute of Technology where she received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree.
Weed joined SkinSmart Dermatology as a licensed Certified Physician Assistant with more than seven years of medical and cosmetic dermatology experience in the Tallahassee, FL area. She graduated from the University of South Alabama in 2008 with a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. She completed her undergraduate studies at Florida State University receiving a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Human Sciences.
Physician Assistants, according to the American Academy of Physician Assistants, are nationally certified and state-licensed medical professionals. PAs practice medicine on healthcare teams with physicians and other providers. They practice and prescribe medication in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and all U.S. territories, with the exception of Puerto Rico.
