Satcom Direct Services to Offer Data from Aircraft Performance Group
Satellite Beach, Fla. (PRWEB) October 21, 2013 -- Satcom Direct, provider of satellite voice, fax, datalink and Internet communications solutions, announces its customers will be able to access Aircraft Performance Group (APG) data through integration with Satcom Direct FlightDeck Freedom® (FDF) and FlightDeck 360™ services.
APG, a performance engineering firm, provides takeoff and landing data services for the airline and corporate flight operations industries. With this system integration, APG will provide Satcom Direct customers with aircraft performance calculations, runway analysis, and aircraft weight and balance calculations using datalink messages, FlightDeck 360 or the FDF portal.
Customer aircraft that have Satcom Direct’s FDF or FlightDeck 360 services will be able to use the APG interface.
“This integration allows current or new APG users the ability to access their weight and balance and aircraft performance information via datalink, which is the first implementation like this in business aviation,” said Scott Hamilton, Chief Strategy Officer at Satcom Direct. “Key information will be pre-populated to simplify calculations and reduce user error, and the integration with FlightDeck 360 also gives customers the ability to stay in one application for pre-flight trip planning.”
Satcom Direct customers will be able to purchase APG services directly from Satcom Direct, directly from APG or from another APG vendor. APG services will be available using Satcom Direct interfaces regardless of how the APG services were purchased.

Demonstrations of the APG integration to FDF and FlightDeck 360 will be available in the Satcom Direct booth #N4107 at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada, Oct. 22 to 24 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and also in space 170 at the show’s static display at Henderson Executive Airport.
