Savant Learning Systems Hires Police Chief David Moore to Lead V-Academy
Martin, TN (PRWEB) April 22, 2015 -- Savant Learning Systems, an innovator in online education technology and services, has hired Police Chief David Moore to lead the strategic direction and operations of its Public Safety Training Division, V-Academy. Through engaging, interactive content and training scenarios and simulations, V-Academy applies knowledge from the minds of top national experts in law enforcement, providing public safety agencies and their constituents with the most current, relevant, high-impact training.
“We are fortunate to have Chief Moore join our executive leadership team - his depth of experience and passion for law enforcement training are second to none," said Tommy Legins, Executive Vice President and CFO of Savant Learning Systems. "In addition to being a public safety veteran, David brings a fundamental understanding of the teaching and learning process and knows how to maximize the effectiveness of knowledge delivery to successfully prepare officers and protect lives. David will be instrumental as we advance the industry’s first training platform built by training officers for training officers.”
Chief Moore, who began his career in law enforcement in 1989 and was promoted to Chief in 2003, currently serves as an Adjunct Instructor for the Department of Behavioral Science at the University of Tennessee at Martin. He is a Past President of the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police, and has been appointed by state governors to the Tennessee Public Health Emergency Advisory Committee and the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. In addition to earning his bachelor's and master's degrees, Chief Moore is a graduate of the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy and the 195th Session of the FBI National Academy.
As Vice President, Chief Moore will oversee the strategic direction of V-Academy’s Training Management System (TMS™), the department integrated platform that empowers training officers to focus on what they do best—train. The intuitive system, which has been developed by public safety professionals and subject matter experts, allows departments to deliver courses and streamline training record management. Easily accessible and affordable, V-Academy TMS™ is POST approved in 18 states and is an FBI National Academy Associates Corporate Alliance Partner.
The V-Academy TMS™ platform and services facilitate personalized training opportunities that promote high performance standards, connecting trainers, subject matter experts and professional police officers where training counts—in the field. V-Academy TMS™ delivers interactive exercises and assessments; relevant videos from national law enforcement leaders; departmental policies and resources; 24x7 tech support; and more. Additionally, robust analytics help departments adhere to state reporting requirements.
“I have been a customer of V-Academy for years, and have always been impressed by Savant Learning Systems' commitment to law enforcement and its forward thinking approach to ensuring the effective and efficient training of our teams," said Chief Moore.
