Schafer Corporation Announces Three Year Contract to Support DARPA’s Tactical Technology Office
Arlington, Va. (PRWEB) January 22, 2015 -- Schafer, a leading provider of scientific, engineering and technical services and products in the national security sector, is pleased to announce its Government Services Sector has been awarded a three-year, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract (with a ceiling amount of $96,945,000) to provide Scientific, Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Tactical Technology Office (TTO). Schafer has been working with DARPA for 26 years, and this is the company’s 3rd consecutive prime contract in TTO.
Schafer will assist DARPA TTO with formulating, executing and transitioning research and development projects that create leading-edge technologies and systems that provide or prevent strategic and tactical surprise. DARPA’s mission is to prevent strategic surprise from negatively impacting U.S. national security, and create strategic surprise for U.S. adversaries by maintaining the technological superiority of the U.S. military. TTO supports that mission through rapidly developing new prototype platforms, weapons, critical technologies and systems.
“It is because of Schafer’s hard working and knowledgeable employees that we continue to receive opportunities like this in support of DARPA’s mission,” said Denise Kellogg, Schafer’s Science & Technology General Manager. “We are confident that TTO awarded this effort to Schafer as a direct result of our employees’ success and dedication.”
Schafer’s mission is to help its customers meet and exceed goals and objectives with integrity, innovation, agility, teamwork and a commitment to excellence. These attributes are a hallmark of our service offering to our longtime partners such as DARPA. Schafer looks to continue to build upon our reputation as a high-end SETA provider, and to expand our service offerings within DARPA while broadening our advanced air, space, ground, and maritime systems capabilities.
