Schafer Corporation Announces Three-Year, Multimillion-Dollar Task Order to Support the Department of Homeland Security
ARLINGTON, Va. (PRWEB) June 24, 2015 -- Schafer Corporation (Schafer), a leading provider of scientific, engineering and technical services and products in the national security sector, is pleased to announce the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has awarded Schafer a three-year task order valued at up to $90 million to provide Scientific Engineering & Technical Assistance (SETA) support to the Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO). DNDO plays a lead role in coordinating efforts to detect and intercept radiological and nuclear devices that threaten U.S. security.
Schafer’s efforts at DNDO are a core part of the company’s Chemical, Nuclear, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE) portfolio and are an essential part of the company’s focus on supporting organizations with missions in national security. Through this effort Schafer will provide technical and operational expertise to DNDO and its broad network of Federal, State, Local, Tribal and Territorial partners, helping design, build and enhance the Nation’s radiological and nuclear detection capabilities. These efforts are critical to preventing an act of radiological or nuclear terrorism.
