Schneider Electric Products Recognized at Plant Engineering Magazine’s Product of the Year Awards
ANDOVER, Mass. (PRWEB) June 20, 2018 -- Schneider Electric, the global specialist in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, today announced that it has been named a multiple award winner by the Plant Engineering Product of the Year Awards program. Its EcoStruxure™ Power Monitoring Expert received the program’s superlative Grand Award, given to the new product that received the highest number of votes among all 15 categories, while the PROficient for Consulting Engineers Program won gold in the Productivity & Training category and the Altivar™ Process 680 (ATV680) Low Harmonic Process Drive won bronze in the Electric Motors & Drives category.
EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert is a complete supervisory software package for power management applications. The software collects and organizes data gathered from the customer’s electrical network and presents it as meaningful, actionable information via an intuitive web interface. Users can then share information with key stakeholders or across their entire operation to influence behavioral changes and reduce costs. This enables users to improve operational efficiency and reduce energy-related costs, ensure electrical network reliability, and optimize equipment utilization and the cost of operations. EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert received the 2017 Grand Award after receiving the most votes from Plant Engineering readers, making it the only product this year to receive such an honor.
A lifetime training and reference resource, the PROficient for Consulting Engineers Program provides Schneider Electric’s specifiers and engineers with the critical tools, education and peer-to-peer collaboration needed to navigate market changes, identify best practices and speed up the delivery of innovative solutions, which ultimately boosts their bottom line. The program provides specifiers, engineers, and design consultants with tools, resources, and expert support for smart, high performance building design. Members of the PROficient for Consulting Engineers Program receive access to a variety of professional resources, including experts on-demand; peer-to-peer collaboration; drawing & design resources; a systems integrator locator; and continuing education materials. In this year’s Plant Engineering Product of the Year Awards, the PROficient for Consulting Engineers Program was named a finalist and eventually a Gold Award winner in the Productivity & Training category.
The Altivar Process 680 is a compact low harmonic drive that offers harmonic mitigation performance in a small footprint. It improves life cycle asset management and optimizes energy consumption by enabling full information and operational technology convergence. The Altivar Process ATV680 is one of the most advanced, user-friendly variable-speed AC drive systems on the market, bringing flexibility to pumping application customers with its ability to mitigate harmonics while performing efficiently at various speeds in a compact design. In addition, Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure Foxboro DCS, the company’s flagship distributed control system that enables real-time measurement and control of an industrial operation, was named a finalist in the Automation & Controls category.
The Plant Engineering Product of the Year Awards recognize outstanding new products that help engineers, facility managers, and buildings professionals do their jobs more efficiently, safely and effectively. This year's winners were selected by Plant Engineering's readers from more than 100 entries. They demonstrate new ideas to solve traditional problems, as well as innovations that will help better implement the new technology available today. The Grand Award, and the 54 winners in 15 categories ranging from asset management to safety, were honored with gold, silver, and bronze trophies on April 16 at CFE Media’s awards event in Chicago.
“We are extremely proud to have been honored in these prestigious award categories,” said Aamir Paul, senior vice president, U.S. Business Operations, Schneider Electric. “These products are key examples of our continued commitment to enabling our customers to reduce energy-related costs, streamline their operations, and continue to innovate to stay at the forefront of their industries.”
