Scientology Forges International Day Against Drug Abuse Offensive
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 26, 2015 -- Scientologists, working year round to end the epidemic of drug abuse, mark June 26, the International Drug Against Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, with conferences, forums, drug education workshops and lectures, sport events, and massive distribution of drug education materials, bringing the truth about drugs to their communities.
Why? Because the World Drug Report, released today, reports that nearly 200,000 die of drug abuse each year; there are 246 million drug users aged 15-64; some 27 million people are dependent on drugs; an estimated 34 million use highly addictive and dangerous pharmaceutical opioids and opiates such as heroin and opium, and more opium is in cultivation today than at any time in the past 75 years.
This year’s World Drug Campaign theme is “Let’s develop our lives, our communities, our identities without drugs” and Scientology Churches are in the forefront of the movement to bring this about.
