Scientology Volunteer Ministers Get Their Hands Dirty After Balkans Flooding
(PRWEB) August 08, 2014 -- It was just another day of grueling work for the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Balkans Disaster Response team, but one that ended with a feeling of real accomplishment.
“Today’s task was not for the fainthearted,” said one of the volunteers, which was a mild way of describing the job of cleaning out and disposing of dead animals at a pigsty and chicken farm in the Bosnian village of Kopanica. Wearing gloves and masks, they completed the job and a special unit of the Slovak Army disinfected the farm with professional equipment.
“Summer holidays are coming,” noted one volunteer. “Anyone wishing to help should come here, join our team, and spend an unforgettable summer as a Volunteer Minister, doing humanitarian work in Bosnia. We guarantee they will not regret it.”
The devastating floods that hit Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia in May of this year were the worst in more than a century. Some three months’ worth of rain fell in a matter of days. In Bosnia alone, 40,000 people were evacuated. Bosnia’s foreign minister said the destruction was comparable to that in the 1992-95 war that still scars the country.

The Volunteer Ministers program was created for use by Scientologists and non-Scientologists alike. Any individual of any religion, culture or creed may train as a Volunteer Minister and use these tools to help their families and communities.
