Scitec® Nutrition’s ‘Marvelous 5’ Posts Solid Showing at Olympia Weekend
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) October 04, 2017 -- Scitec® Nutrition’s “Marvelous 5” recorded top finishes during the recent Olympia weekend at The Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Team Scitec was the only team with five athletes qualifying for the world-renowned competition. Brandon Curry, who hails from Nashville, Tennessee, placed eighth in the IFBB Mr. Olympia event, while teammates Cedric McMillan and Maxx Charles finished 10th and 13th, respectively.
In the IFBB Bikini Olympia competition, Team Scitec’s Margret Gnarr and Jessica Renee finished in a tie for 16th.
Curry, who was competing in his fifth Mr. Olympia, felt his Las Vegas performance was good, but not good enough.
“This was the most interesting Olympia I have competed in by far,” said Curry. “That said, I could have been better. The ups and downs of the competition were very stimulating. I got to pacing like a panther on stage by the time of the finals. I was wanting so much to get compared over and over again in the lineup, though I was denied.”
An active duty U.S. Army training officer, McMillan was also hoping for better results in his third Mr. Olympia.
“I always want to bring my best look possible to the stage and I didn’t get a chance to do that,” said McMillan. “I will make some changes with my preparation and this will not happen again in the future. I would still like to make further improvements to all of my body parts and that will continue to happen over time as always. The preparation is the key for now and it must and will be fixed.”
For Charles, a Port-au-Prince, Haiti native who now calls Long Island, New York home, he considered his second Mr. Olympia a lesson learned.
“I can be so much better,” offered Charles. “I need to figure out how to peak properly for the stage the day of the show. It seems like that’s when things seem to go wrong. I still thought the Olympia was exciting. After all, it’s the Super Bowl of bodybuilding.”
Gnarr, who is Iceland’s first IFBB Bikini Pro, wants to use her second Olympia appearance as a springboard for future success.
“I need to just keep lifting heavy to maintain my muscle mass and come in lean, tight and full for future shows,” said Gnarr. “For sure, I thought I could have done way better in Las Vegas. I was under stress the days leading up to the show and my body just didn’t respond well.”
Renee, a Miami Beach resident, was competing in her very first Olympia.
“I thought my posing and performance was better than previous shows I have done,” said the former full-time fitness/bikini model. “I thought it was really an amazing experience. Going forward, I am continuously going to try and bring my legs down and make them a bit more proportionate to the rest of my body.”
“We know our Team Scitec athletes did the best they could and we are very proud of them for qualifying for the competition. We look forward to all of them achieving even more positive results in the near future,” said Gyöngyi Janky, Scitec Nutrition’s Global Communication Manager.
