Second Annual Kids Building Wisconsin Sponsored by Industry Leaders
Madison, Wisconsin (PRWEB) April 16, 2015 -- Parents will want to bring their budding builders and architects to McKee Farms Park in Fitchburg on May 9 to let them experience firsthand the vast possibilities of a career in construction.
The second annual Kids Building Wisconsin, organized by the non-profit organization of the same name, will feature a variety of fun and educational hands-on activities for children ages 3-12. Highlights include viewing heavy equipment right in the park, operating virtual reality equipment, building a brick wall, nail hammering contests, painting activities, and many more. In all, over a dozen interactive exhibits will be set up throughout the park.
“We’re thrilled to be back again this year to offer children of all ages the opportunity to explore the wide-ranging aspects of the construction industry,” says Patrick Stern, President of the Kids Building Wisconsin board of directors. “It’s such a fun way for kids and their parents to learn about the amazing, family-supporting careers in the construction industry, and it’s a great chance for us to celebrate the industry and inspire a new generation of builders in Wisconsin.”
The event is made possible by title sponsors Construction Business Group, Fast Signs, The Home Depot, and Tri-North Builders, along with over twenty other sponsors representing many sides of the industry. Masons, bricklayers, operators, carpenters, and other trade union members will participate, along with other area contractors and industry professionals. Interactive exhibits will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for kids to explore, and prizes will be available for activities completed. In addition, the first 2,000 kids in attendance will get a free hard hat. On-site food sold by Hy-Vee, music, and face-painting round out the fun.
