Second Crimson Cup Coffee House to Open in Columbus, Ohio Suburb of Upper Arlington
Columbus, Ohio (PRWEB) April 30, 2015 -- Crimson Cup Coffee & Tea, a Columbus-based coffee roaster and coffee franchise alternative, will open a second company-owned coffee house this summer at 2468 Northwest Blvd. in suburban Upper Arlington.
Founder and President Greg Ubert said the new coffee house will provide a different experience than the Crimson Cup Coffee House at 4541 North High Street in Clintonville, which opened in 2007.
“We don’t believe in cookie-cutter coffee shops,” he said. “Our focus is on tailoring the experience to the needs of the local community.”
The goal, he said, is to create an inviting community space offering innovative beverages for coffee and tea connoisseurs along with great espressos, mochas and blended drinks for the everyday coffee drinker. “We’re envisioning a welcoming environment where you can come to relax, meet your friends and family and unwind from the rest of the world while enjoying your preferred beverage.”
To support the slow enjoyment of coffee, the shop does not have a drive-thru window. Every aspect of the café will focus on providing a deeper coffee experience, starting with innovative equipment such as a modbar. An amped-up brew bar will support pour-over preparation of an expanded rotation of Crimson Cup’s signature Friend2Farmer direct trade and craft coffees.
“Over the past few years, our company has focused on establishing direct trade relationships with small coffee farms,” Ubert said. “Our brew bar will offer more room to showcase the farmers’ hard work using slow coffee-brewing techniques that bring out the optimum flavor of each coffee bean.”
Several nitrogen and carbon dioxide taps will dispense Crimson Cup’s growing selection of cold-brew coffees and other beverages. “We’ve seen an incredible demand for our Nitro cold brews at our Clintonville location,” Ubert noted. “Our innovation team is hard at work creating the next cold-brew sensations.”
In addition to serving the Columbus community, the new coffee house will act as an innovation and testing lab for the community of independent coffee houses, cafés and bakeries that serve Crimson Cup beverages.
“We believe that communities are best served by locally owned coffee houses, so a big part of what we do focuses on supporting coffee entrepreneurs,” Ubert said.
The company teaches entrepreneurs how to open a coffee shop through its Seven Steps to Success coffee franchise alternative program. The program is based on Ubert’s book, Seven Steps to Success in the Specialty Coffee Industry, and includes everything a new coffee shop owner needs, including a model coffee shop business plan.
