Secure Cap Hosts Outreach BBQ to Support Sea Scouts in Long Beach, CA
Long Beach, Calif (PRWEB) April 14, 2015 -- Sponsors from all over Southern California – Earthlog, George’s Greek Café, Healthy Habit Cerritos, Bella Vino Arts, Kamal Palace, among others – came together in support of the Sea Scouts in Long Beach, CA during an outreach barbeque event put on by Secure Cap of Orange, CA, a company that makes Harley-Davidson locking oil tank dipsticks.
The event, hosted by Secure Cap and the attending sponsors, helped raise money for a much-needed marine engine for the kids in Sea Scouts. The donations received went towards replacing a bad engine that came with a boat that was recently purchased for the kids.
“We couldn’t believe that someone would sell a boat with a bad motor to these kids, which is what moved everyone to get involved,” said Sea Scout Supervisor, Rich. “We at Yourtrashyourcash.com feel that money is hard to come by today. People are working harder than ever just to make ends meet. We don’t think this is the time to be asking people for money. Instead, we have the moto, ‘Don’t pay us, we’ll pay you.’”
Bringing awareness and a positive outlook to recycling, those who attended the community barbeque were able to donate their CRV recyclables to Yourtrashyourcash.com and exchange them for payment, which could then be donated to the Sea Scout Troop.
Exchanging trash already set to be thrown away for donations used to fight the good fight for kids who desperately needed them, the barbeque event helped provide opportunities for the Sea Scouts to experience the natural resources of the ocean.
“The Sea Scouts were great, by the way,” said a Secure Cap representative. “The young girls and guys helped us with everything at the barbeque.”
The Long Beach Sea Scouts are now getting involved with Yourtrashyourcash.com. As this recycling program starts to take off, it promotes the positive idea that trash can become cash, which can then become a blessing for someone else.
CRV recyclable materials that are already destined for the trash can be donated to yourtrashyourcash.com, and participants will receive direct payment, or the funds can be donated to the Sea Scouts or another charity or organization of their choice.
Those interested in participating in this recycling effort can sign up at yourtrashyourcash.com. Then the Long Beach Area Council Recycling will provide bags for the participant’s trash cans. Once a week, the pickup trucks will collect the trash and scan any CRV glass, paper, plastic, aluminum cans, and copper items. The recyclables are then logged into the participant’s account and they will either receive a check or the option to donate the amount to whomever they wish.
Don’t waste time standing in line, feeding recycling machines one can at a time. Instead, sign up at yourtrashyourcash.com. They pick up the recycling, and participants get the same CRV with less effort.
