Security Compass Joins PCI Security Standards Council as a Participating Organization
Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) October 29, 2013 -- Security Compass, a leading web and mobile application security firm, announces that they have joined the prestigious Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council as a participating member. PCI is the nation’s governing body for credit card standards and the PCI's Security Standards Council is responsible for setting security standards at retailers, merchants and e-commerce sites nationwide.
“We are happy to be part of the PCI community so that we can help better serve our customers who must comply with PCI Data Security Standards,” said Rohit Sethi, Vice President of Security Compass. “This will give us the ability to play a direct role in the ongoing development and enhancement of PCI standards, which are critical to preventing financial fraud and identity theft. This will also enable us to review new PCI standards far in advance of their official release, allowing us to better serve our corporate clients.”
The PCI Security Standards Council, founded by multinational financial services companies like American Express, Visa, MasterCard and Discover, plays a critical role in securing US credit and debit card transactions, including traditional in-store, online and mobile payments.
Security Compass recently updated its SD Elements secure coding platform to cover the PCI Payment Application Data Security Standard (PCI PA-DSS). Now vendors who create payment applications can build in PA-DSS compliance from the start, in addition to the most comprehensive set of software security and privacy requirements available on the market today.
