Security Compass Partners with ISSA Los Angeles Chapter to Promote Mobile Security Training
Toronto (PRWEB) May 20, 2015 -- Security Compass, a leading web and mobile application security firm, is pleased to announce it is donating 24 free seats for its new mobile security training course, “Defending Mobile,” to the members of the Information Systems Security Association’s Los Angeles Chapter (ISSA-LA), in an effort to promote a better understanding of the risks facing mobile apps and new best practices for protecting them.
Starting at the next ISSA-LA’s monthly meeting on May 20 and every month thereafter, three local members will be selected in a random drawing to receive the free Security Compass computer-based training (CBT) program, which is valued at $250. The promotion will run through December 2015.

Key highlights of the Defending Mobile program:
• This 60-minute CBT course teaches developers, and other IT pros, how to build mobile applications that are highly secure and resistant to the vast majority of threats they may encounter in the wild.
• Participants will learn exactly how hackers target mobile apps, as well as the mobile operating system and the device itself. Training will also include the current threat environment for mobile platforms, including the OWASP Top 10 Mobile Risks.
• The course provides in-depth training on how to mitigate data security risks at three key levels: data at rest, data in transit and data at runtime.
• It is code agnostic and covers multiple mobile operating systems.
