San Jose, California (PRWEB) December 07, 2016 -- Securly’s innovative web-filtering solution has won the 2016 Tech & Learning Award of Excellence under the “Best Upgraded Product” category.
“Given Tech and Learning magazine’s standing in the EdTech community, the award is for sure a huge honor for the company. We look forward to continued innovations in 2017” says Bharath Madhusudan, CTO/ Co-founder of Securly.
This year alone, Securly has announced several new feature additions that are “industry-first.” Among them:
Delegated Administration - Principals and guidance counselors can access our dashboard and pull reports on user activity. Securly, also, directly alerts them of suspicious student online activity. Perhaps the best part of this feature, however, is that IT does not have to be involved. Disturbing posts flagged by Securly’s Sentiment Analysis are automatically delivered to delegated staff.
Parent Portal and Email Reports - Parents can now view their kids’ online activity while in-school or at-home across all of their school-owned devices. Now you can easily see how much of your child’s time is spent learning on educational sites versus gaming or social media time sinks. All of this is delivered via e-mail reports.
The first self-serve web-filter - Securly became the first ever web filter that can be installed from a web browser. With this update, Securly eliminates the complexity of network based web-filters and replaces it with the simplicity of EdTech tools like Remind and ClassDojo.
"Once again this year, the Tech & Learning judges examined hundreds of entries to select those products that were deemed worthy of our 2016 Award of Excellence. This wasn't just checking off spec sheets and surfing other people's reviews. Each product was handled and scored individually. Not an easy task." says Kevin Hogan, Editorial Director for NewBay Media's Tech & Learning Group.
