SecurTek Announces Support for Upcoming CANASA Monitoring Station Symposium
Yorkton, Saskatchewan (PRWEB) October 02, 2013 -- SecurTek, Canada's leading monitoring solutions provider, announced today educational and financial support to the industry by investing in the first ever Canadian Security Association (CANASA) Monitoring Station Symposium, to be held later this month in Toronto. The Symposium will bring together monitoring stations and security experts for an opportunity to learn and rally stakeholders around on-going changes in certifications and regulations affecting their work.
"There are many misconceptions about the duties and responsibilities of people who work in monitoring stations -- the most common of which is that a central station is not much more than a glorified call centre", according SecurTek Director of Central Stations Wendy Zaporosky. "It's easy to forget that station attendants are required to make critical decisions that lead to appropriate alarm responses every day. Central stations take on the responsibility to ensure operators are there for customers on the phone when there is an emergency, to dispatch the appropriate emergency personnel."
Every week SecurTek station operators are called to attend on average to over 10,000 emergency signals. SecurTek produces 50 graduates from over 100 station attendant training courses, annually. SecurTek is not only sponsoring the event, SecurTek helped plan the Monitoring Station Symposium and will deliver a number of registered staff delegates to the event.
