See Western Painter Carrie Fell in Action at Sorrel Sky Gallery
Santa Fe, NM (PRWEB) April 28, 2015 -- Sorrel Sky Gallery of Santa Fe will host an evening with Colorado artist Carrie Fell, whose work is unique among painters of the American West. Fell will present an in-studio art demonstration to introduce her latest series, “Unbridled Souls: Portrait of the American Horse.” This special event will be held during the First Friday Art Walk from 5-7:30 p.m. on June 5. Sorrel Sky is located at 125 W. Palace Ave.
Since 1988, Fell’s self-discovered technique has continually led her to choose cowboys and cowgirls as her favorite subject, with watercolors, acrylic and oil. She is a dynamic and entertaining personality who tailors each public appearance to connect the audience to her works and processes.
A Colorado native, Carrie Fell’s style depicts the traditional icons of the Old West with a thoroughly modern twist using vibrant colors, appropriate use of negative space and fluid forms. This is the New West—the west as a “state of mind”—a place of change with an attitude of boldness and energy. “I want my art to play a personal role in people’s lives. If a painting moves you at some deeper level, then I have reached my goal.”
Carrie dedicates her life to her paintings and all who know her look with anticipation to the next glimpse of the Wild West through her perceptive eye.
Sorrel Sky Gallery’s fresh approach to Western art presents a select collection of contemporary and traditional fine art and jewelry for the discerning collector. Sorrel Sky Gallery was founded in Durango, CO in 2002 and opened its Santa Fe, NM location in 2014. It represents over 60 painters, sculptors and jewelers including bronze artist Star Liana York, painter Billy Schenck, and former U.S. Senator Ben Nighthorse, among others.
