SeePolitical Makes Ballot Props Fun & Easy to Understand with Engaging Animations
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 07, 2014 -- Online voter education tool SeePolitical, which explains the confusing language of each California ballot proposition with engaging, unbiased videos, has launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to create animated voter education videos for the November elections. With six confusing ballot propositions in place for CA voters, the donations raised will go to producing the brief and engaging animated videos to provide clear and unbiased information to voters.

Seasoned political veteran and SeePolitical Founder Nate Kaplan was driven to create this platform after seeing that many accomplished lawmakers were challenged with understanding the confusing language of ballot propositions. If politicians were unable to demystify these props, how could voters hope to educate themselves to make informed decisions in the ballot booth? SeePolitical helps voters easily understand what a “Yes” vote means and what a “No” vote means for each ballot prop. SeePolitical doesn’t tell voters how to vote, they break down the information into plain English or Spanish to help voters decide.
SeePolitical’s team of expert policy analysts conducts research for each ballot proposition, ensuring a fair and balanced explanation for both the “Yes” and “No” side. With this information, Emmy Award-winning creative studio and SeePolitical partner Imaginary Forces crafts informative, engaging videos explaining each ballot prop in less than two minutes. SeePolitical’s videos will be available on the site, and will also be distributed to partner organizations and media outlets for mass distribution. Voters can view the videos on their computer or mobile device and save their voter preferences on the mobile app, which can be saved to use as reference on Election Day.
“Options are limited for voters to make an informed decision about ballot propositions,” notes Kaplan. “They have to either read the confusing language in the boring voter education guide or listen to the very biased ads promoting one side or the other. We are all empowered to make these decisions that affect all of our lives. SeePolitical will give you clarity on what you’re voting on so your vote counts.”
The 25-day crowdfunding campaign with a goal of $90K will dedicate all raised funds directly to building the SeePolitical voter education platform, with hopes of expanding to a national level in the coming months. Backers of various donation levels will receive perks for their tax-deductible donation, including the creation of a SeePolitical cartoon character of their likeness for any donation above $5,000.
