Selim Fiagome, Attorney at Hartline Dacus Barger Dreyer LLP, Selected for This Year’s “Amos T. Hall Award”
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) October 24, 2013 -- Selim Fiagome, attorney at Hartline Dacus Barger Dreyer LLP, was one of four recipients to receive the 2013 Amos T. Hall Award from the Northeast Oklahoma Black Lawyers Association. Attorneys honored with this award strive to increase diversity in the legal profession and help educate minority students about the law. Amos T. Hall was the first African American to be elected as judge in Oklahoma and became one of the state’s most significant civil rights lawyers.
Selim helped create the Pipeline+ Program, an educational program that assists minority high school students interested in pursuing legal careers, and provides scholarships to Oklahoma law students through the Amos T. Hall Scholarship program.
“Selim has done an outstanding job of informing minority students about the importance of diversity in the practice of law and deserves to be recognized for his hard work,” says HDBD Managing Partner Jeff Patterson.
Selim joined the firm in 2012 with extensive experience, both as an Assistant Federal Public Defender and in private practice. He has been recognized for his many contributions not only in the legal realm, but also to the community. Selim was honored with the Diversity Leadership Award from the Tulsa Bar Association in 2008.
