SEND International Appoints New Missionaries
Detroit, Michigan (PRWEB) July 29, 2015 -- On SEND International’s US campus in Farmington, Michigan, six people endured a week of evaluations and interviews to determine if missions with SEND is right for them. All six were accepted for their various ministries in one of SEND’s 20 areas of the world.
A seventh candidate, Kris Kingyens, came from Canada to experience the training. He will be interviewed by SEND Canada’s board for acceptance sometime this month. He hopes to serve the church planting team in Japan through sports ministry.
Steve Baker, the Director of Personnel Selection & Training for SEND-USA, wrote, “I am thrilled to announce that all six candidates who interviewed with the Missionary Appointments Committee today were indeed appointed. It was evident to all of us that God had brought this special group of people together for ‘such a time as this.’ Each brings a giftedness and skillset and we rejoice at these newest SEND missionaries.”
Among the new candidates are Timothy and Hayley Batt. They are excited to use their flying and fixing skills in the airplane-dependent ministries of SEND North in Alaska and the Yukon. They are returning to SEND for career service after experiencing life in Alaska on a short-term missions trip.
Kurt and Christine Bekins were also accepted as missionaries with SEND. They will be exploring opportunities to serve in church planting in Europe.
Another couple comes to SEND after several years of engaging unreached people in China. They write, “We are passionate about making God’s name known among the unreached in China. Our mission is to help fulfill the Great Commission through planting reproductive, self-sustained, and solid biblical churches in China who proclaim the gospel.”
SEND is grateful to see more of God’s people being mobilized to engage unreached people with the gospel and establish reproducing churches.
