Sennheiser Celebrates 70th Anniversary As its Call Center and Office (CC&O) Segment Shows Sustained Growth in Both Revenue and Staff
Old Lyme, Conn. (PRWEB) August 28, 2015 -- Sennheiser, a leading manufacturer of premium headset and audio solutions, is celebrating its 70th anniversary in the marketplace. In light of this milestone, its Contact Center and Office (CC&O) segment continues to demonstrate market growth, both year-over-year and since its initial launch in the telecommunications space in 2011. The company's market expansion remains on track, estimated to grow from 4.2 percent in 2011 to a projected 11 percent by 2016.
For the period between July 2014 and July 2015, Sennheiser‘s CC&O segment experienced year-over-year growth of 103 percent in sales of its headsets and speakerphone products for the unified communications and office environments. These products include the D 10 Series, SD wireless, Century, Circle, Culture, MB and PRESENCE headsets.
In 2014 and 2015, company sales have been supported by product launches such as the award-winning SP 10 and SP 20 speakerphones: portable, plug-and-play conferencing systems that are easily transported and perfect for SMB environments. Meanwhile, the now-iconic SD Series of DECT wireless headsets — which provide optimum comfort and sound quality for business infrastructures — launched this past fall, rounding out Sennheiser’s portfolio for office environments.
Sennheiser CC&O also increased its staff by approximately 170 percent over the past year to accommodate growth, significantly expanding its sales, marketing and administrative teams. The segment remains focused on growth in five key geographic markets: the United States, Denmark, Germany, France and Benelux (Belgium/Netherlands/Luxembourg), and has made significant investments to develop its sales staff, product research and development, and industry relationships to support these regions.
Additionally, the company has established formal strategic relationships with a list of major unified communications partners such as Microsoft, IBM, Cisco, Aastra Telecom, Alcatel-Lucent, Polycom, and Avaya; plus distributors in US and Canada including D&H Distributing, Ingram Micro and Run Distribution. Sennheiser will continue to develop these alliances globally, in order to deliver on more sales opportunities both locally and internationally.
Such investments are indicative of Sennheiser’s CC&O’s campaign to increase penetration in the telecommunications and office markets. The company now boasts the third-largest market share according to market reports, since it began launching products for the telecommunications market in 2003 and established dedicated staff and resources for the CC&O segment in 2011. This recent growth also comes at a time when competing audio headset manufacturers in the telecommunications and office space have reported lack-luster or struggling sales numbers.
The entire Sennheiser CC&O product line capitalizes on Sennheiser’s 70 years of expertise, research and development, which has supported decades of sales in the areas of audio, professional recording and hearing aid technology. Sennheiser’s industry-leading acumen has proven itself in a variety of applications and markets, from headphones and microphones for music lovers and professional recording artists, to aviation headsets and audiology products.
The Sennheiser brand has long been synonymous with high-performance, premium sound products, including innovations that have entrenched new standards in audio technology. As the organization observes its 70th anniversary, it remains family-owned and operated, headed by a third generation of the Sennheiser family. The current CEOs, Daniel Sennheiser and Dr. Andreas Sennheiser, are the grandchildren of the company’s founder, Prof. Dr. Fritz Sennheiser.
The company introduced the world’s first open headphones, the HD 414, and continued to produce present-day innovations such as the Digital 9000 wireless microphone system and MobileConnect, an inclusive audio-streaming solution for people with sight and hearing impairments. Numerous patents and awards – including an Emmy, a Grammy, a Scientific and Engineering Award of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and the Engineering Emmy‘s® Philo T. Farnsworth Award – bear witness to the company’s distinguished innovative path.
“Sennheiser has decades of experience delivering high-end, industry-leading audio products to a roster of complex verticals,” began Bill Whearty, vice president, sales and marketing at CC&O at Sennheiser. “Competitors have difficulty comparing our legacy in the professional audio marketplace, which harks all the way back to 1945. We’re proud to leverage that expertise and engineering prowess in the contact center and office environments, so the business community can benefit from this level of quality technology. As the company celebrates its 70th anniversary, we look forward to observing our fine standards of audio quality, elevating the effectiveness of even the most sophisticated telephony system.”
