Sensogram Technologies Announces Major Breakthrough In Wireless, Cuff-less, Streaming Blood Pressure Monitoring
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) December 06, 2016 -- Sensogram Technologies, a global leader in wearable, wireless health monitoring technology, today announced the successful completion of three pilot clinical studies comparing their new SensoSCAN wearable device to an industry-standard wrist arterial blood pressure monitor; OMRON-BP-629.
These studies found that SensoSCAN correlates very well with this industry-standard product, with calibration holding over a two-week period on both the left and right sides of the body.
“With this pilot data, we have taken the first step toward robustly validating the capability of our technology to measure blood pressure in real time via a user friendly wearable device. We fully expect further studies to confirm these blood pressure function results and we will broaden the scope of our testing to include heart rate, respiration rate and blood oxygen saturation,” said Ernie Ianace, Sensogram President. Test data is available by request and under NDA at the discretion of Sensogram management.
SensoSCAN, comfortably worn on the finger, is a non-invasive, cuff-less device that relies on optical scanning to wirelessly stream blood pressure readings to the cloud. Access to this information is readily available in real time to the wearer, friends, family and caregivers through an easy to navigate portal and mobile app.
“This same technology platform can be deployed in a wide range of wearable devices to address specific use case segments of this burgeoning market including; clinical care, PERS, first responders, military as well as sports performance and overall wellness. Steps to address these markets are already underway,” said Ianace.
The first generation of SensoSCAN units will ship in late December and be available in US markets in January. SensoSCAN is intended for general health and wellness applications. It is not intended for the diagnosis of disease.
