September 4: Mile Hi Church and the Colorado Sikhs Make History
Lakewood, CO (PRWEB) September 03, 2016 -- On Sunday, September 4, 2016, at 5:30p.m. Mile Hi Church will host the first full Sikh service in history to be held within church walls at 9077 W. Alameda Ave., Lakewood, CO 80226. This service is open to people of all faiths and is free and open to the public.
In partnership with the Colorado Sikh community, and in consultation with India, we will pray together and share a festival of dance, food and education. This event, marking a historic joining and sharing of faith traditions, will support harmonious relationships within communities across the state, our nation, and the world.
Following the service, participants are invited to partake in Langar, a free, traditional Sikh meal, in the Mile Hi Church Community Center. The Sikh community serves over 6.5 million meals each day around the world, primarily to those in need.
The service will be broadcast live via Livestream at https://livestream.com/MileHiChurch. Viewers can watch from anywhere around the world. Additionally, remote participants are invited to enjoy scenes from the event before and after the service via Mile Hi Church’s Twitter @milehichurch. A watch party and live Twitter chat will take place during the service #SikhsAtMHC.
This historic event will be featured in an original documentary, set to be released in 2017.
