ServerMonkey Selects Winner of SpiceWorks Contest

The contest ran from May 24, 2013 to June 24, 2013 and provided a fun way for IT professionals to learn more about ServerMonkey’s products and low prices.
Contestants were asked to guess the price at which ServerMonkey was selling a fully configured refurbished server. All contestants that guessed within 10% of the correct price were awarded a coupon and promotional item package. One grand prize winner was selected at random and received a refurbished Dell PowerEdge 2950 Gen 3 server fully configured with dual 2.33 GHz quad-core Intel Xeon processors, 16GB memory, 8-146GB 10K SAS 2.5 HDD, Perc 6i RAID, Drac 5, dual power supplies and a rail kit as well as a swag pack containing a signature ServerMonkey t-shirt, stickers, universal network cable, and one flying monkey.
The contest had a total of 181 entries, making it one of Spiceworks’ top 20 contests of all time. The majority of contestants browsed ServerMonkey.com to research the correct selling price. Only 14% of all contestants guessed above the correct price and 20% guessed that the server sold for lower than the actual price.
