Starting in 2011, the Director of Research and Development, Scott Shaw, along with company co-founder, Tim Fromhart, utilized an educational campaign concept to foster relationships and increase awareness of solar power for non-profit organizations in Las Vegas. As part of this approach, Service 1st Energy Solutions utilized “The Renewable Power Hour,” a block program on CBS Radio, FM 100.5 KXNT, to provide Las Vegas residents with a better understanding of their options for power, as well as develop recognition for solar energy.
The radio show served as a valuable way to inform consumers and also help generate insight into the changing world of renewable technology. This approach is also what brought to life the company’s burgeoning commercial sector, developed to benefit non-profit organizations by cutting or eliminating their energy costs.
The company has grown from nine installers to 30, working in teams to cover residential and commercial installations. Service 1st Energy Solutions now has a platform focused on long term growth and awareness of solar energy capabilities in a city with an abundance of sunshine, but very little actual solar production.
