SF Goodwill Donate-a-thon Celebration Thanks Donors With Movie and Zoo Tickets, Live Performances by SF Boys Chorus and Cheer SF and Free Ice Cream On December 31st
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 19, 2013 -- December 31st is the culmination of Goodwill’s busiest donation season of the year. Donors include Goodwill as part of their holiday tradition of giving—with the added bonus of collecting their end of year tax deduction. In gratitude, Goodwill is turning the donation experience into a thank you event that celebrates the generous donors who give to Goodwill.
“We’re inviting donors to join the San Francisco Goodwill family for our annual Donate-a-thon party, and help us fill 50 trailer trucks with donated goods,” said Leslie Bilbro, Donations Director, Goodwill San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin. “Last year, over 600 local people got jobs through Goodwill and found a path out of poverty. Filling 50 trucks helps open doorways to jobs for even more local people in 2014.”
During Donate-a-thon, Goodwill’s 1500 Mission Street donation drop turns into a donation sensation with live music, performances by the San Francisco Boys Chorus and Cheer SF, bell hop service, free popcorn and Humphrey Slocombe ice cream and treats for kids. The first 400 Goodwill donors at the Mission Street location on December 31st will win San Francisco Zoo or Century Cinema movie tickets when Goodwill’s Mission Street gates open at 7am*
The San Francisco Girl Scouts, San Francisco Fire Department (SFFD) along with Marilyn Monroe and Macklemore costumed characters will make appearances to donate and support the mission of Goodwill. Additionally, donors will be entered in a raffle to win a complimentary home organizing session with professional organizing company, Liberated Spaces.
Gently used clothes, toys, technology and household goods are the lifeblood of Goodwill’s almost 100 year old nonprofit social enterprise. These much needed donations fund Goodwill’s job training and placement programs that give local people a second chance and a dignified path out of poverty. Last year, more than 600 people got jobs in San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin counties with the help of Goodwill.
*Tickets distributed on a first come first served basis only at 1500 Mission Street beginning at 7am. To find all donation location hours and learn about Zipcar's exclusive offer for Goodwill donors, please check http://sfgoodwill.org.
