SH&A announces a new cooperative certification agreement with the ESD Association, Inc.
(PRWEB) January 30, 2015 -- Stephen Halperin & Associates, Ltd. (SH&A) an independent consultancy of Bensenville, IL is pleased to announce a new cooperative certification agreement with the ESD Association, Inc. (ESDA) a not for profit association based in Rome, NY. In the agreement the ESDA grants SH&A the authorization to certify candidates to the ESDA’s TR53 Technician designation should they successfully pass SH&A’s Level 1: ANSI/ESD S20.20 Plant Auditor examination. Both organizations focus on the education, training and certification of plant auditors and technicians who must measure and maintain electrostatic discharge (ESD) controls in static sensitive environments. Many of these operations handle highly static sensitive electronic parts and assemblies. Personnel trained and certified in these specialized measurement techniques insure that ESD controls are in-place and functioning to prevent billions of dollars of ESD losses.
The ESDA created their TR53 Technician Certification based on the ESDA’s technical report, ESD-TR53 …Compliance Verification of ESD Protective Equipment and Materials, which supports and maintains static control programs designed around ANSI/ESD S20.20 Standard For the Development of an Electrostatic Discharge Control Program for Protection of Electrical and Electronic Parts, Assemblies and Equipment, and the European technically equivalent standard IEC 61340-5-1.
SH&A, independent ESD specialists since 1983, has been heavily involved in the industry’s development, including professional training and certification, standards, laboratory testing, facility and process analysis techniques. Their SH&A CERTIFIED ESD SPECIALISTSM PROGRAM, SH&A Level 1: ANSI/ESD S20.20 Plant Auditor training and certification includes the requirements contained in Technical Report #53, in turn supporting ANSI/ESD S20.20 and IEC 61340-5-1. This highly effective, hands-on training program has proven itself domestically and internationally to train and verify the performance of ESD plant auditors and technicians from major corporations during the past 7 years.
ESDA and SH&A agree that the SH&A Level 1: ANSI/ESD S20.20 Plant Auditor class meets the criteria of the ESDA TR53 Technician Certification program. All course attendees that pass and comply with SH&A’s requirements for SH&A Level 1: ANSI/ESDA S20.20 Plant Auditor certification meet the ESDA Certified TR53 Technician program requirements. SH&A will register all successful Level 1 candidates with the ESDA and provide dual certification credentials to the certified individual.
